Poetry is a rare gift to be able to pour out your thoughts into words that aptly reflect your state of mind, even more so when you are gifted to create poetry in languages. I may not be an expert in poetry, but what I do know and what many who read these poems will agree to is that they speak through the heart, and to the heart. Yashashvi's poems reflect her feminity, her joys, her introspection of life, her experiences and struggles of what one goes through in her generation.

Yashashvi Nathawat from Rajasthan is a young gifted poet and featured here are some of her writings including some pieces in Hindi that are truly touching and reflect the joy and contemplation of the human spirit

Celebration

www.andrewalpin1.blogspot.com-yashashvi-nathawatWhite roses
Vast landscape
Colorful butterflies
Playing like a child
A smiling sun
Clouds forming images
Westward wind
Sparrows chattering
Rocks lying below
Happy with soil
Green grass and mud
Ants in turmoil
And there beside stands
an old neem tree
Around which squirrels
keep moving free
Sweet scented flowers
Bees gaining power
It’s a sunny day
Today and I
And I am among nature
Even I imagine
I’m a happy creature

Her First Day

She spent the whole day
Lying on her bed
Her bed supported her
Her stomach did not
She cried on her first day
A hot water bag
her only hope
Tea soon joined
Her line of supporters
And for three days
She never touched coffee
She rolled herself
in a blanket to stay calm
But lying on her stomach
She felt
Butterflies dancing inside
She somehow managed
Tired of tears
Though she always slept
with the pain
 thundering inside
Yet she always
kept herself strong
On her first day

It Is Fine

It is fine if I don’t wear eyeliner everyday
It is fine if I rarely enter the kitchen everyday
It is fine if I’m less stylish
It is fine if I always wear T-shirts
Even on special occasions
It is fine if I keep my hair short
It is fine if I hate lipstick
It is fine if you all
Consider me sick
It is fine but I repeat, I hate lipstick
It is fine
